“Nothing to Hide,” the Off Broadway magic show directed by Neil Patrick Harris, has recouped its $400,000 capitalization in eight weeks, according to producers.

That $400,000 price tag is barely a drop in the bucket for Broadway (much less Hollywood), but in Off Broadway theaters, where revenue is strictly limited by smaller seating capacities (and therefore reduced ticket inventories), recoupment tends to be viewed as something of an achievement. It took long-running Off Broadway musical “Altar Boyz” some three years to recoup, and the buzzmagnet revival of “Our Town” needed its entire 20-month run to make it into the black.
